A kutatási téma leírása:
The aim of the planned research is to obtain information about physiological, genetic and immunological background of the pathogenicity of filamentous fungi. Different groups of fungi, primarily Scedosporium spp., Curvularia spp. and members of Mucoromycotina, as different model organisms will be involved in the study. In case of these fungal groups, risk factors, manifestation of the mycoses and antifungal susceptibilities are different. The study focuses on the following fields: testing the susceptibility to currently used antifungal agents, antifungal effect of new compounds and microbial metabolites, functional analysis of possible virulence factors and their genes and the examination of the host-pathogen interactions.
