Heat transfer intensifying techniques

TÉMAKIÍRÁS

Intézmény: Budapesti Műszaki és Gazdaságtudományi Egyetem
gépészeti tudományok
Pattantyús-Ábrahám Géza Gépészeti Tudományok Doktori Iskola

témavezető: Gróf Gyula
helyszín (magyar oldal): Department of Energy Engineering
helyszín rövidítés: EGR

A kutatási téma leírása:

a) Antecedents: The heat transport intensifications are valid, “evergreen” problems in most of the engineering systems where heat transfer fluids are applied. In one hand the fluid transfer properties might be improved eg. heat conductivity by adding nano-particles and on the other hand the smarter channel geometry might be applied instead of tubes.
b.) Aim of research: Comparing different improvement techniques on the same engineering arrangement in order to judge the efficiency of different methods.
c.) Tasks, main items, necessary time: Doing a literature survey and determining the scientific gaps (0,5 years). Study of nano-particles added heat transfer improvement, focussing on high temperature application (0,5 year). Study of different “smart channel” geometries in case of different tube insertions (0.5 year). Working out the suitable test rig (0.5 years). Doing measurement on the test rig (1 year). Publication of the new scientific results (continuously). Writing the Ph.D. thesis (1 year). Attending some relevant courses (in English) on combustion theory, fluid dynamics, and energy engineering. Most of the mentioned tasks can be carried out in parallel.
d.) Required equipment: Computer, access to the scientific literature, and all the necessary laboratory equipment are readily available at the department.
e.) Expected scientific results: Comparative analysis about different techniques, clarifying the processes, optimization of the application conditions.
