A numerikus feladatok végrehajtását lehetővé tévő rendszerek viselkedéses és MRI vizsgálata azt kívánja feltárni, hogy milyen reprezentációk, milyen lehetséges feldolgozási mechanimusok hová lokalizálhatóak az agyban. A vizsgált elemi reprezentációk témája magába foglalja többek közt a párosság reprezentációt, a procedurális rendszerek szerepét numerikus feladatokban, a különböző jelölésmódok komputációs követelményeinek kérdését, és az analóg mennyiség rendszer téri jellegét.
Studying the systems underlying numerical tasks with behavioral and MRI methods can reveal the properties of these representations, the nature of processing and the localisations of these systems in the brain. The topics of basic numerical systems among others include the parity of mbers, the role of procedural systems in numerical tasks, the computational demand of the different notational systems and the spatial property of the analogue magnitude system.
