Description of the research topic:

"The aim of doctoral theses is to descibe the lithological, facies and palaeontological characteristics of the shallow-marine, prevailingly carbonate successions of the Urgonian facies predominated by rudists and special association of microfossils incl. forams and greene algae. Further aim is to detect the changes of the lithofacies, the macro- and microfossil associations in space and time, and to draw palaeogeographic conclusions of the changes even in maps, taking into consideration of the reason of sea-level changes caused by local tectonics or non-tectonic global events.
The first step towards this aim is to get acquainted with the Urgon facies introduced by D'Orbigny in the middle of the 19th centuary and also with the change/development of the term up to now.
This special type of facies developed at the end of the Neocomian and disappeared in the Cenomanian. The subject equally can be restricted thematically and geographically, therefore several different types of subjects can be formulated as follows: 1. Detection of changes of macro- and microfacies in space and time with conclusions. 2. Variability of macro- and microfossil association in space and time, with explanation of regularities. 3. Further specialization possibility is to restrict the subject for some selected smaller groups of fossils such as green algae, orbitolina, etc., and their importance in changes of the facies or time. 4. An other type approach is to correlate complete Urgonian successions within a geographically restricted areas where the change of the facies shows striking differences. "
