A gyors technológiai változás és a szervezetek komplexitásának növekedése elmozdulást eredményezett az egyéni, individuális munkavégzéstől a team munka irányába. Léteznek olyan speciális munkakörök, amelyek hatékonysága és eredményessége kifejezetten a team-munkán alapszik. Ilyenek az erőművekben az operátor teamek, pilóták, közlekedés légi irányítók, katonai-, tengerészeti egységek, amelyek sikeressége az egymáshoz való alkalmazkodásra, együttműködésére, koordinációra és kommunikációra épül. A Team Interakció és Kommunikáció kutatócsoport a különböző szervezeti kultúrában működő teamek kommunikációs és interakciós mintázatait vizsgálja. Kutatásainkban arra vagyunk kíváncsiak, hogyan alakítják ki a teamek a mentális modelljüket és ez hogyan befolyásolja a team teljesítményét.
Eddigi kutatásainkat magas kockázatú munkakörülmények között működő teamekben végeztük (operátor teamek, tűzoltók, rehabilitációs orvosok), ahol a tudásmegosztás, információáramlás különböző koordinációs mintázatit vizsgáltuk különböző módszerekkel. A hatékony teammunka döntési, koordinációs és kooperációs mintázatát a vezető határozza meg. Ezért a kutatásainkat kibővítettük a vezetés szerepének vizsgálatára arra, hogy a vezető mentális komplexitásának szintje hogyan befolyásolja az eredményességet. Az adott témában már három doktori disszertáció született: az egyik a nukleáris környezetben az operátor teameket, a másik az orvosi teameket vizsgálja, a harmadik dolgozat pedig a vezetők mentális komplexitás mérésére dolgozott ki mérőeszközt. Virtuális teamek kommunikációja
Technological development and the increased complexity of work led to a shift from individual work to team work. There are some special fields of work where the efficiency and success are relied on teamwork, such as operator teams in different power plants, cockpit crews, air traffic controllers, medical teams, military or navy teams. The success of these teams is based on efficient communication, cooperation and coordination between team members. Our Team Interaction and Communication Research Group focuses on analyzing complex decision making procedures, how the team members adapt to the applied decision making strategies to the requirements of the environment. One important characteristic of these teams is that they have to provide high performance even under stressful conditions; they have to solve technical problems under time pressure while having ambiguous or insufficient information, furthermore they have to manage social processes such as communication and coordination.
Our research group is working on the interaction and communication patterns of teams in difference organizational settings. Our main aim is to capture the shared mental model in the team and its influence on the team efficacy.
Our researches have been carried out mainly in teams working in high risk environment (operators in NPP or medical teams, firefighters) where we investigated with various methods how the information stream and the knowledge sharing was practiced. The team leader determines the communication and coordination patterns of the teams. So for this reason we extended our research to investigate how the level of the team leader’s mental complexity influences the success and efficiency of the team.
