Description of the research topic:
Quantum Shannon theory provides the mathematically rigorous
theoretical foundations of quantum information science, one of the
most dynamically evolving research areas of our days. The aim of the
research project is to quantify the asymptotically optimal performance
of various quantum protocols by determining the trade-off relations
among the operational quantities characterizing these problems, and to
study the mathematical properties of the related measures of quantum
information. It is recommended to mathematicians and physicists with
an interest in information theory and the mathematical/conceptual
foundations of quantum physics. A strong mathematical background is
required.
