Description of the research topic:

In spatial evolutionary games players are located at the sites of a network and they collect income by playing games with their neighbors when using one of their possible strategies. The macroscopic behavior of these systems is studied when the players are allowed to modify their own strategy by following a dynamical rule. The pair interactions of these models are characterized by matrices that can be decomposed into the sum of a potential game and rock-paper-scissors type cyclic components. For the ordinal potential games the cyclic components are weak and cannot modify the thermodynamic behavior at low noise levels while drastic changes are caused at high noises. The main goals of our research are to identify the validity region of ordinal potential games and to explore the possible behaviors at high noises.
