Description of the research topic:
An important aspect of linguistic communication is the processing of prosodic features (rhythm, stress, intonation). A growing number of evidence suggest that segmental (phonemes, words) and prosodic features are processed independently from each other in a parallel way. The research topic aims at the investigation of the neural background of these features in the first and second language. The methods used include eye-tracking, electrophysiology and neuroimaging.
