Description of the research topic:
The huge changes in the cognitive science of religion in the last two decades has hardly made an impact upon the scholarly study of the Jewish religion. Still, the application of contemporary cognitive theories on Judaism might profit both Judaic studies and the cognitive science of religion. It can turn out that certain approaches, such as the ritual model of Lawson and McCauley, requires being refined, while a new narrative of the history of Judaism would emerge.
