Description of the research topic:

Experiments are to be carried out mainly by using the Ti-sapphire laser system of the Wigner Research Centre for Physics. The efficiency of high harmonic generation by ultrashort laser pulses can be increased when using cluster or nanoparticle targets instead of gases. Besides the benefit of these materials to the generation of attosecond pulses, the high harmonics serve information about the nanoplasmas inside the clusters. The topics of the PhD work is to carry out experiments and/or numerical simulations for the better understanding of these phenomena.
