Description of the research topic:
Az alak es tárgyfeldolgozás komputácisan igen nehez feladat. Ugyanakkor a központi idegrendszer gyorsan es erőfeszitések nélkül képes megoldani ezt. Hogyan es hol reprezentálódnak agyunkban a tárgyak? Mennyire speciálisak az arcok? Hogyan reprezentálódnak a különböző kategóriák? Ezeket a kérdéseket tanulmányozzuk a cimben szereplő módszerekkel.
Face and shape representation in the human brain: computation, electrophysiology and fMRI (Gyula Kovács):
Shape and face representation is a computationally extremely difficult task. Nevertheless our central nervous system solves this task effortlessly. How and where does our brain represent shapes? Are the faces special? How the different categories are represented? Among others we will study these questions using standard ERP, psychophysical and fMRI.
