Description of the research topic:
Detailed reaction mechanisms are widely used in many areas of science and engineering. These mechanisms can be converted to systems of ordinary differntial equations having several hundred variables and several thousand parameters. All these parameters are results of experiments or theoretical calculations, and have (usually large) uncertainty. The task of the applicant is the development of new methods that relate the uncertainty of the experimental data, the system parameters, and the simulation results.
Required language skills: no formal requirement Recommended language skills (in Hungarian): good command of English Further requirements: "background in applied mathematics programming skills, ability for accurate work"
Number of students who can be accepted: 5
