Research
research area The urgent issue of sustainability prompts fundamental reconsideration, reshaping, and innovation in every field of management science. Supply chain management is particularly affected by these processes, where cost sensitivity, as well as the need for flexibility and agility, alongside numerous other factors, constantly compel business players to revitalize their business models. In the spirit of carbon neutrality, there is a significant shift happening in the automotive industry, where electric and hybrid vehicles are competing against internal combustion engines. As a result of this process, a significant surge in battery supply is expected, posing numerous challenges globally at every point in the supply chain, from raw material supply to battery recycling. The European Union's Green Deal, Climate Law, and Fit for 55 programs aim to both promote and regulate these supply areas, thereby facilitating the creation of a new value chain.
